Our author study for December and January is Jan Brett! So far we have enjoyed reading her stories such as The Wild Christmas Reindeer and The Gingerbread Boy. We made these mittens to retell The Mitten. The children had to put the animals in the correct order and when you pull the strip the animals appear inside the mitten one at a time!
