We spent today reading and learning about Martin Luther King Jr. It is special for me to teach such young minds about the history of Martin Luther King. Most of them prior to this week had not heard of him. As we discussed the way life was when he was fighting for equality, the children have a hard time understanding. A world where black children and white children had to go to different schools, playgrounds, restaurants, water fountains, etc?! They couldn't wrap there minds around it...just couldn't understand why that was ever a real thing. The start to say such beautiful things about love and kindness. It fills my heart with joy and hope for the future.
