We love the youtube video When You Add with a Pirate
So much so that I planned all our math lessons around it this week. First we added gold coins. Then we counted by 10’s with treasure and made a chest that opens up to put them inside. Then we had a treasure hunt! They used a map to follow the clues and solve the addition problems! When they got to the end they were surprised with a treasure! We even dressed the part by wearing eye patches! ARG!
